Have you ever wondered what your FTP (Functional Threshold Power) is? Or want to retest? Then ICG® is on your side!
Booking this club ticket you will bring the ICG® Live Ride - FTP 20 Test to your studio. This link authorizes you to live stream the event into your club with unlimited attendees.
On Friday, November 18th at 6:30 pm CET, we will be streaming a FTP 20 test live from our HQ in Germany directly to your studio! The test will last about one and a half hour which includes warm up, pre-fatigue, the test itself and a cool down. Our ICG® Master Trainers Stefan Leber & Tim Sandner will be your wingmen and always keep you motivated all the time through.
Let’s live test together with hundreds of ICG® passionate riders and share your results to the ICG® Community facebook group. Every fitness level is welcome, no limitations.
Some tips for a proper preparation for the test:
Rest. The preparation for the FTP test begins many days before the test - min. 1 day rest bevor. Being fresh will give you a truer reflection of your potential, and ultimately a higher FTP score. Test tired and all subsequent training sessions will be at an intensity below where you should be training. Don’t test if you’re ill or tired.
Be prepared. Get plenty of sleep and make sure your last meal was a few hours before the test. Give yourself the time to test, don’t try to squeeze it in between other things.
Overcome the fear. Get into the FTP mental zone. It’s quite likely it’s been on your mind for a few days already, in fact, you’ve been dreading it, so take the time to cast these fears aside and focus on the challenge ahead.
Be your own hero. Don’t be overconfident when setting your FTP test target. Set a modest increase of 3-4% and if this is too easy during the test, ramp it up. Start too high and your test will become hell and your final number will not be representative.
Concentrate. Don’t drift off. Your numbers will suffer. You need to maintain the perfect FTP, focused without quite feeling the pain.
Be in the moment. Don’t think about how long is left, focus only on the next minute and then repeat. Completing the perfect FTP test is as much mental as physical.

6:30 - 7:00 pm Intro incl. 10 point bike setup and FTP test procedure description
7:00 - 7:30 pm Pre-fatigue (preparing your body for the upcoming test)
7:30 - 8:00 pm 20 min FTP test including cool down
What you need: A room full of indoor bikes, a tablet or laptop and projector, a stable internet connection and of course your members – fully equipped with towel, water bottle and lots of energy!
